Certificate of Advanced Studies - Health in Humanitarian Emergencies
Maintaining and improving the health situation of vulnerable populations lies at the heart of most aid projects, especially during a humanitarian emergency.
Humanitarian professionals must be equipped with sufficient basic knowledge to be able to identify and monitor health problems during crises, and to develop effective and appropriate intervention strategies in complex situations.

Course contents
During the six weeks of the course, the following themes will be addressed:
- Public health and epidemiological information systems
- Epidemics and control of infectious diseases
- Non-communicable diseases and trauma in crisis situations
- Nutritional crises: origins, consequences and interventions
- Public-health intervention strategies, including strengthening the health system
- Responsibilities of health professionals
- Analysing the roles of national and international actors
- Professional ethics and dilemmas.
