Partners
CERAH adopted its present form in 2008 under an agreement between the University of Geneva and the Graduate Institute for international and development studies (IHEID).
Since 1998 several faculties of the University of Geneva have been involved in CERAH thus embedding the multidisciplinary character of the teaching from the beginning. Today, the faculties of medicine, law, sciences, letters, and psychology and educational sciences contribute to the programme. IHEID also make a significant contribution. These university institutions also participate in developing the strategic direction of CERAH through their presence on the Board. The teachers, often of Professorial level, which the institutions make available to CERAH guarantee the high quality of the education offered.
Several humanitarian and United Nations organisations participate in teaching. Three partners are particularly closely involved: the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), Medecins sans Frontières (Swiss) and the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) of the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs. They play a key role by offering their long experience in the field as well as their thinking on contemporary humanitarian crises. They contribute to strategic decisions thanks to their position on CERAH’s Board.
