Since 2006, Valérie Gorin occasionally contributed to CERAH courses before becoming a lecturer in January 2011.

She coordinates several modules and two Thematic Seminars on the history of humanitarianism and on the relationship between humanitarian work and the media.

She has been carrying out research on media and communications since 2007 with the Department of Sociology, Faculty of Social Science, University of Geneva.  She is finalising a thesis on mediatisation of humanitarian crises in news magazines while also teaching qualitative methods.  

Valérie Gorin obtained a Degree in History from the Faculty of Arts in October 2004.
